How to disable the security feature or permission feature in Windows Vista

  1. This feature is called UAC – User Account Control
  2. It can be annoying some times – though it is a very good feature that Vista can boast of
  3. To disable this feature go to Start – Control Panel – User Account
  4. Select “Turn User Account Control On or Off”
  5. Un ckeck the Use UAC – then say OK
  6. It will ask for a re-boot – do it as you wish

As soon as you do this, you can see a RED ICON flashing at your task bar. You can remove this using the below steps.

How to hide the security Center icon in Windows Vista

  1. Right Click on the Red Security Icon on the Task Bar
  2. Select “Open Security Center”
  3. In the Left Menu – select “Change the way Security Center Alerts me”
  4. A window must open up with 3 options
  5. Select the third option “Dont notify me and dont show the icon”
