Ubuntu Show path in folder view

Go to a folder and press “Control + L

This should show you the path of the folder you are in

    I have windows 7 but used to have xp. In xp you could go to search hit my pictures and all the pics on your com. would be there.
    I am completely burnt out on t5rying to organize them now. They are everywhere and nowhere when I want certain ones. Why can/t we just put them somewhere leave them aloan and not have them multiply and take space on our com. This is killing me. Please help me.
