Windows 7 – record WAV files

The default audio recorder in Win 7 save the file as WMA. However, you can use this simple command to record audio and save to WAV instead

Go to Start Menu search bar and type the below command and hit enter

soundrecorder /file output.wav

The recorder will open up – record your audio and it will ask you to save the file as a WAV file instead of WMA

you have changed the name of the output file in the command – that is all and that should not matter
I dont know why it is not working for you though

Lately, this technique has stopped working for me. I had used it flawlessly for a while but not anymore. Files are being recorded as WMA again. Any suggestion please?
